Does your child want to learn the Greek Language?  There is an excellent resource that it absolutely FREE that will teach your student Greek. Kypros has many free courses to teach Greek (from beginner to advanced).  The lessons are audio lessons so the student can actually hear how the words are supposed to sound.

I am so excited to find this free gem!  Have you been wanting to introduce or re-inforce foreign language learning into your homeschool?  If so you will definitely want to check out Duolingo!  Duolingo is a free online foreign language learning system.   It has several different languages to choose from such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, and many more!

Duolingo reminds me alot of the Rosetta Stone program.  The way it uses audio visual methodology is really similar.  The lessons are interactive, self-grading, and are tailored somewhat to your student. So fun!

We have talked about Khan Academy here before as it is such an AWESOME resource for Homeschooling For Free.  You’ll find Science, Math, History and lots of other subjects taught there.

A couple of weeks ago Khan Academy made a very exciting announcement… their site is now available completely in Spanish!  This will be great for those whose primary language is Spanish, or if you want to integrate exposure to a second language into your curriculum (more free foreign language resources here)!

They also say that they will have Khan Academy available in other languages in the coming months and years.

Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by all of the language learning courses out there? We’ve discussed buying Rosetta Stone, which has been highly recommended by almost everyone we talk to, but for $400 – $500 per language? Um… maybe we’ll work with some free options to see if those will work first.

We have LOVED the BBC’s spanish course Mi Vida Loca, and plan to use their “Quick Fix” resources for several languages that we likely will not have time to get to a full-curriculum for.
