Can you believe that it’s November already?! November 1st completely snuck up on me this year!
I am excited for the start of the holiday season (one of my favorite times of the year!), and I’m also excited to take part in the 4th annual 30-Day Giving Challenge!
What is the 30-Day Giving Challenge?
It’s a dedicated period of time where we work together to think of ways to bless our friends, families, neighbors, and strangers by making a conscious effort to give every day in November! And hopefully, those 30 days of practice will turn into habits for us and our children that will continue throughout the rest of the year! 🙂
So, today was Day 1 of the giving challenge (I’m a little late, but better late than never, right?) and the first thing that came to my mind when I decided to join the challenge was that I really need to be more diligent about giving my time.
- Giving more of my “free time” to my kids. Just because we homeschool doesn’t mean that I automatically set aside the alone time that my kids need to talk about life.
- Giving time to newer homeschool moms who are looking for help and encouragement.
- Giving more time to develop friendships.
- Giving more time to my husband to hang out in the evenings without electronic distractions.
In addition to the above things that I am wanting to work on in my life, I also plan to focus on using this month to reinforce with our children how much JOY they can receive by being active givers! It’s going to be a blast to plan with them each morning what we can do that day to bless others!
And just in case you’re not like me and would like a full-month schedule where you can plan out all of your giving activities ahead of time (schedules make me want to scream, so we’ll just wing it over here!) then check out this 30-Day Giving Challenge Printable Calendar!
So what giving activities are you planning to do with your kids this month?
