We use a traditional phonetic approach to learning how to read (there are lots of great FREE resources on our phonics page), but we also use the Dolch Sight Word lists to quickly learn the most common words and the words that don’t quite follow all of the “rules”.
All of the Dolch Sight Word lists are downloaded to our family iPad (there are lots of sight word apps, just search the app store for “sight words”), but my 2 year old likes to commandeer the iPad whenever he sees one of the other kids doing something on it.
So I decided to make a powerpoint presentation to use to learn and review the sight words on any of the computers in the house (or using the projector on the wall)!
I’ve put together presentations for all of the levels (Pre-Primer, Primer, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Nouns) in powerpoint format and am offering them for FREE to Facebook fans of How To Homeschool For Free!
All you have to do is head over to the How To Homeschool For Free Facebook Page here, click on “Like” if you’re not already a fan, and then you’ll be able to download the .zip file with all of the presentations!
